I dropped in here, not expecting a great deal, but was pleasantly surprised. I had the $20 Rump steak with chips and salad. Steak was cooked perfectly medium rare, whilst the chips and salad were above par.

Sails Bistro

Used a Scoopon coupon and was pleasantly surprised. Good value for money with the coupon. Food was good and the service was OK.

Discovered this lovely place while on holiday in April this year. The coffee shop is located just off the main street of Manly but it&#39;s not noisy. You have the choice of sitting indoors or in the alley next to the building which is shaded, airy and kept spotlessly clean. The welcome from the staff was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them. I am a real coffee lover and was not disappointed with the strength and quality of their coffee. My wife and I had breakfast here 3 times on each occasion the food was well prepared and very tasty. Good use of seasonal produce and the emphasis really was on quality rather than just piling the plates up. I would recommend this place to anybody and I will definitely visit on my next trip to Australia.

First and last time I will eat here. Meals were not of great quality. One member of the party was over charged for drinks by $8:40!!!! When she went to enquire, was told they were too busy to deal with it!!! She then spoke with the manager who returned with a very smug reply and 40 c, as the refund -$8 short!!!! When it was explained again, a female staff member returned with $8. 40 c short this time - so it was explained again and thankfully this female staff member then got it correct. Orders were incorrect and some party members had to wait 45 mins for food. None of this would have been so bad had the staff had better communication skills. Communicating with customers Re meal delays would be appreciated. Thankfully kids meals came out very quickly but again they weren&#39;t great quality - over cooked chicken nuggets, greasy fish. I am not sure that they are staffed appropriately for the numbers of customers. Some customer service workshops may be beneficial.

My partner and I dined at the Manly Hotel for the first time and had a very unpleasant experience. After waiting 20 minutes in a line to order our meals, we decided to head over to the Pokies room for 5 minutes. I left my drink on the table to indicate that we were still sitting there, however, when we returned to our table another couple had been seated in our seats and my drink gone. The staff fixed this problem promptly by reseating us. We waited a total of 50 minutes for our meals and when we received our steaks which were meant to be medium rare, we instead received well done steaks. We were very unhappy by this experience and would be hesitant to return to the restaurant. You are paying a lot more compared to similar venues in the area, so you expect to have a pleasant experience but unfortunately it was not. However, a lovely waitress named Natalie was very pleasant to deal with and extremely accommodating and apologetic after we had finished our meals. She was the only highlight from our experience
